Setting a table for Thanksgiving has never been so easy. Follow this 4-step guide on how to set a traditional Thanksgiving table.

Step 1: A Table Runner

Thanksgiving is a time for friends and family to spend quality time with one another with an endless spread of traditional meals.

That’s why choosing a decorative table runner is just as important as the turkey.

If you’re looking for a more daring look this holiday season, try a bold-autumnal hues to accentuate your table.

Or try incorporating seasonal accents to add a festive-flare to your table.

A floral arrangement with hints of gourds and fruits such as apples and grapes would be a colorful addition to complete your holiday table.

Step 2: Dinnerware

This year, we’re letting our mission-style dinnerware do the talking for us. The Duomo collection is inspired by the Italian Renaissance which would be ideal for a traditional table setting.

Handcrafted to perfection with its refined scalloped edges, this timeless piece will instantly become a holiday favorite as it is oven and dishwasher safe.

Set the charger at each place setting the table followed by the dinner plate, salad/soup bowl.

Step 3: Flatware

No matter how big or small your gatherings are, it is essential to have the necessary flatware.

Following a traditional table setting, a five-piece set comes with a salad fork, dinner fork, dinner knife, soup spoon and dessert spoon. Where do they all go?

The forks are set on the left-hand side of the plate with the dinner fork next to the plate and the salad fork following–on the left. If it is easier, the smaller fork is furthest from the plate.

The knife is always on the right-hand side with the blade inside or facing the plate. The soup spoon then follows the dinner knife on its right.

Finally, the dessert spoon sits above the plate or in our case inside the bowl.

Step 4: Glassware

Like flatware, glassware is equally important when it comes to every table setting. After all, you want your guest to enjoy a refreshing beverage to wash down their meal.

Glassware is traditionally-set directly above the dinner knife.

With those four steps, you’ve set your table with grace. No more overthinking about what goes where.
